Not the same. The commitment at BYU brings defined responsibilities ang

benefits (subsidized education). When one party in an agreement doesn't hold up their end of the deal, they cannot expect the other side to continue to provide the benefit.
And you might not think that there are plenty of others willing to live their commitments is a big deal, but it is to them.
