Agreed
Agreed and I deleted it.

This is just one of those topics that really gets on my nerves. I met several people during my time at BYU who were completely dishonest about their beliefs and lifestyle choices in order to take advantage of the low tuition and academic ranking of the University. Without exception, when I would talk to them about why they chose to stay at BYU, they would say that they didn't want to go through that hassle of transferring and having some of their credits not count. Basically, they wanted all of the benefits with none of the responsibility or consequences that follow one's choices. This has always struck me as profoundly disingenuous.

Now, years later, I have met numerous individuals who fit the same mold. One even recently told me that he is "ashamed" to have to list BYU as his undergraduate institution because the Church is so "dishonest". When I pressed him on how long he had felt this way, he said he'd never really believed but didn't say anything because he want to have to pay for school (his stake had a scholarship for BYU). He then went on to brag about how little of the honor code he kept while at BYU (coffee seems to be the first thing these "rebels" turn to).

This is my experience, so sorry if I come on a little strong. The Church invests an incredible amount of money and effort in each student at CES schools. I don't think a little honesty is too much to require in return.
