The penalty does not match crime, that's the real issue. A $25 parking ticket
Fine but taking your only car, charging $300 to get it back and $50 a day to store it is not right.
As I recall the parking over the line was due to a snow bank on the passenger side from a snow plow and needing room to let the passenger out of the car. Either way, it's excessive, predatory and unjust in my humble opinion.
