I used to sometimes drive the campus tow truck.
We were more than generous to violators. Parking enforcement people were reasonable, only towing those who had a lot of unpaid tickets. During education week when parking was crazy, I towed a car that was blocking traffic and dropped it in a nearby open parking spot. The only problem I saw was with some Provo High students who were parking a lot in campus parking across the street from the high school. The student tried to jump into his friends car and drive away before I hooked it up. He hit the car next to him along with another student. Then all the friends jumped in and they sped away. Campus police came but did not even bother pursuing. We had all the car info. I think the high school student's dad was a professor.
