Genuine question here because I am a little torn on the subject.
I like the honor code but not necessarily how it is run by some. You could say the same about church really.

I don't mean to imply by any means that a rape is the someone's one fault by asking this and you can even take it out of the rape scenario and just think about it generally. My serious question is:

Does that fact that something bad happens to someone at least partially as a result of decisions they made excuse them from the consequences of those decisions?

Again, by no means am I suggesting the rape is the fault of the victim. A different completely crazy scenario could be if burglar is shot in a home invasion, and the homeowner had the gun illegally, does that excuse the burglary?

I know there needs to be sensitivity to each case but that thought keeps coming to mind as most of the talk is about the honor code and rape stuff is an extreme on either side.
