Well you are saying that being raped is not the fault of the victim, but as the
question about what about bad things happening because of ones bad decisions. You say to not think about the rape case but to think of it generally; however, nothing is equal here. We are talking about a rape case. And that line of thinking is why so many victims don't come forward or fall into the abyss of shame and self-loathing that victims feel. They often feel they in some way contributed to the rape (and it doesn't help when those on the outside say, "well she was drinking" or "well, her skirt didn't cover her knees.")

Rape is rape. A female victim does not cause a man to force himself onto and inside her. BYU should be leading the cause for making a woman feel loved--regardless of the extenuating circumstances--who has been sexually assaulted.

As members of Christs church, we should be helping any victim and looking to change any policy that makes a place unsafe.
