I get that they were prior sins, but the negative reenforcement attached to coming forward with the rape is leading girls to not getting the help they need. I think the traumatic experience and need for that professional help far outweighs and trumps the honor code office being petty over past sins. I get that past sins come up and they sinned but it is just my opinion that getting their lives back on course far outweighs the HCO's petty need for punishment. They already go through a personal hell with being a rape victim and the psychological damages should be more than enough to satisfy the HCO's strong drive for justice over mercy and perceived regret over sins.
