You would think if that is the case, they would release a statement saying so.
One of the most disappointing parts of this whole situation, in my view, are the very statements that BYU and the honor code office have made. I'm specifically talking about the ones they made before saying they would make changes to the way the office is run.

BYU has access to professionals that deal with public relations. It seems like they could have quickly and easily cleared this matter up weeks ago by saying that it is not their policy to do what they are being accused of doing, end of story. Instead they totally avoid saying that very thing. Do you really think the PR teams don't understand that, or are being held back from doing so?
