Utah currently has 128 offers out. Exactly 2 have committed to BYU. Including Peoples. Who changed to be a Ute then changed back the same day to be a Coug.
There are two kids who BYU has offered who are Utah committs as well.
There are likely 4 more kids in common this year, with offers from both program. So, like a typical year, 8-10 in common recruits.
That is hardly a trend.
Not to mention. Utah and BYU are not the only teams to offer these kids. Since BYU offeres way early, are all the other programs 'piggy-backing' on BYU's analysis and homework on the kids? Um, NO WAY!!!!
BYU, even with the strategy of offering early as a rule, has recently offered a kid after Utah offered him. Now, that is 'piggy-backing'.
It's recruiting. Teams make offers to kids they want. The vast majority of offers made by Utah or BYU respectively, are not in common with each other.
Wait, you are right. Utah's entire ploy is to 'piggy-back' on BYU since their recruiting is soooooo awesome. Their player analysis is soooo awesome. Clearly that is showing up in the NFL draft as well.
Nice.
