Jokes? Yes. It is a rivalry after all. But.......
You also have no idea about the amount of contact Utah has had with a kid prior to an offer. You really don't actually know that Utah hasn't been calling the kids, going to games, talking to their coaches, had them in for unofficial visits, had them to games, etc.

It would be very unlike any D-1 football team to willy nilly offer a kid without any of their own research and just based on another team offering. They only have so many scholarships in a given year. Some years more, some less.

There are position group needs to consider, how the kid fits your program, how you project the kid will develop, number of overall scholarships available and how a kid committing effects how you use the other scholarships, who is returning from their mission, who is going, etc.

It just doen't happen the way you think. That you think it does, says more about you, and other Zoobies, than anything. Uneducated.

I get that it is fun to joke around. I do it a lot as well. If it's not a joke, then the above applies.

Most kids at BYU today would not start at Utah. I don't see Utah following BYU to the recruiting alter, at all. The fact that they both offer a handfull of kids, would indicate that those kids are good.
