...I bet Bronco would give up his paycheck for that and I think it would be the perfect fit for him and his vision of the football program.
Dave Rose, otoh, really does want to win on the big stage and I love the fact that you can tell he's never fully satisfied with where the basketball program is and is always looking for ways to improve it.
All last year I posted on CB calling for Rose to pull Nick Martineau's scholarship or that Nick should put the team first and voluntarily give it up so that Rose could use it to get a player on the team that could actually contribute. BYU is cheap enough that it's not hard for a player to come up with the funds on their own if needed. I applauded Rose when he announced he was yanking it and going after a player who could help the team.
As for my being an "out-of-the-box" thinker, I've found if you're willing to work/dig/think hard enough you can always find a way around a barrier or a loophole in the system. It fits nicely with my core belief that it's always easier to say I'm sorry than it is to get permission.
So, did I understand from your post that Gary Andersen is LDS? For some reason I had always been under the assumption he wasn't. That's funny about calling Whitt to be the UPLES Mission Prez. I could see Elder Holland doing that (he's the one GA I know of who wears Blue Goggles).
