Why would BYU assume teams would leave the WAC?
Once yewtah, TCU and BYU left, what was the assumed big draw of the MWC?
I think it was a fairly reasonable thing for BYU to assume that if they joined the WAC, it would add huge gravitas and stability to the conference. It might even entice a few old WAC members to come back.
Turns out they were wrong, but just because they were doesn't mean the MWC's attempt to kill the WAC wasn't discussed. I just think they felt they would be enough to shore up the conference.
