He's talking academics, since he explicitly excluded the honor code, and there's no difference when it comes to athletic standards for athletes (except that BYU can take as many partial qualifiers as they can get). Yes, the honor code and the LDS ownership is going to limit your athlete pool, but it's also going to get you a bunch of players that wouldn't have come otherwise, so I'm not sure it's the albatross many of you think it is.
