I'm not a hospital administrator, and am genuinely curious. Are you in the

medical field? I would assume that CRNAs are fully skilled in any procedure they are legally allowed to administer, including in the OR and epidurals for OB patients, so what are the effective differences between them and anesthesiologists? If there is not a true benefit then there should not be a salary difference, and yet there is. If it's simply tradition to hire anesthesiologists, then that is an explanation, but there must be more explanation than years of training. Ultimately in any profession I don't care how long you trained, as long as you can perform the task.
