that can come from overmedicating. Unfortunately I have seen MDs and PAs prescribe antibiotic when it is not necessary, possibly out of an overabundunce of caution. It's a classic tragedy of the commons that may very occasionally help one patient who actually does have a bacteria, but that causes more harm to society in the long run as super-germs evolve.
