In hospitals a nurse anesthetist:anesthesiologist :: LPN:primary care physician

Or dental hygienist:dentist. Or DO: MD . It's not like FSBO:realtor.

My bro was a hospital CEO. They would hire some nurse anesthetists, but they could not do everything an anesthesiologist could do procedurally or legally.
