In today's environment it is much more difficult for BYU to finish in the top 25
Today the system is slanted much more in the favor of the power conferences. And remember that all of those top-25 finishes of the past were achieved against very weak Mountain West or WAC schedules, with usually one power conference team thrown in during the early season. The current schedules are much more difficult.
