That worked well together, worked hard and didn't quit.... essentially we were Air Force under Bronco. The lack of players drafted in the NFL draft is a clear cut sign that Bronco basically didn't recruit well at all... and didn't develop well. He just had players run around and work hard. That's about it.
Bronco got lucky with KVN... and Ezekiel Ansah was drafted based on potential and not because of his development under Bronco. In fact more draft experts criticized Bronco for under utilizing him.
Simply put... Bronco left nothing for Sitake. Hiring Doman and then Anae back cause a really bad period of just awful recruiting. Anae wanted smaller lineman... after we had larger linemen. Bronco wouldn't recruit a decent DL to save his freaking life.
Bronco benefited greatly from Crowton's recruits... that is where most of the players who were coached by Bronco, were drafted. When Bronco took the job at BYU, he openly bragged about BYU sending players into the NFL... but 2012, he was talking about how it wasn't as important anymore.
Bronco did some great things for BYU... but it doesn't matter who took over the program after Bronco left... they were going to have some pretty rough years.... because Bronco recruited for his system and ideas... if your replacement coach didn't fit within Bronco's system and ideas... it wasn't going to be successful at all.
