BYU might have a better chance of making it as a G5 but they have a way better
chance of WINNING it as an independent. Independence means more money, a bigger stage, and better recruiting than being in a G5. BYU's recruiting rankings have remained relatively flat since going independent but I'm positive our rankings would have tanked if we were still in the Mountain West.

How often is a G5 one of the 8 best teams in the country? It doesn’t make sense unless they go 12 or 16
