If BYU were 12-0 right now. Playoffs would have been a discussion.
However I'm still not sure we get in because all the other teams are playing their conference championships against good opponents while we sit at home and watch. If BYU was 12-0, and then thumped Memphis in the CCG, the discussion would expand from there, and a 13-0 BYU would maybe make it this year.
The problem is that as it currently stands BYU is nowhere near a top program.
You can argue that without inclusion, we never will be. And you can also argue that until we get better, we dont deserve to be.
CFB isnt what it used to be. The top end teams probably have more talent on their current rosters as we have on our all decade teams.
I dont know which way is the right path. But I sure would love to get extra games from a CCG. And as "little dog" as the AAC is right now, there is a path towards respect there. Just have to win.

How often is a G5 one of the 8 best teams in the country? It doesn’t make sense unless they go 12 or 16
