Question for fans of the Stormlight Archives: how does it compare to Tolkien?
For most of my life I haven't been much of a "read for fun" kind of guy. I tried to read Lord of the Rings more than a decade ago and got bored quickly with the history and world building. I didn't give it much of a chance though. Since then, Brandon Sanderson and the Cosmere has turned me into a reader and I am reading the Stormlight books for a third time to prepare for Rhythm of War.

These books are massive and have a lot of world building in them, and it has worked for me. They are awesome. So I am thinking of giving Lord of the Rings another try.

If you have read both, how do they compare?

Best thread of the day goes to the Tolkein/Sanderson one. I think I'll reread (Cougarrr, May 23, 2020 at 8:57pm)
