Yes, Jordan also had problem with many of his characters, but that doesn't mean that Sanderson doesn't also have problem with characters or that his weakness in characters didn't badly hurt what he did with Mat Cauthon, who was 1 of those 3 main characters who clearly wasn't 1 dimensional and who Sanderson himself admits he did a poor job with.

If you read my post closer, you'll find that your post is not on point with mine at all. I never said Jordan's female characters were good. I never said that Jordan was great at making sure all his characters had depth. Iactually agree with your criticisms of Jordan, with the qualifier that Mat was a fantastic exception. Indeed, I wasn't comparing Sanderson and Jordan in any general sense. I simply said that Sanderson's limitations with what he does with characters took one of the best characters ever, Mat, and botched it. All of that can be true with Jordan also having weaknesses and some/many poor characters. Mat though was not 1 dimensional or a bad character, until Sanderson got a hold of him.

Don't get me wrong, Sanderson is brilliant in many ways, but he struggled with Mat, probably because Mat was genuinely funny before and that isn't Sanderson's forte.
