Sanderson original Mistborn series is very good
I’ve had a hard time getting into Stormlight. Very slow story telling and the female character portion of the story is very boring.
Tolkien is a once in a generation talent, on a completely different level, especially considering when he wrote the series. He created a fantasy world and characters that’s never really been matched. This said, certainly his style is not for everyone. I mean he wrote his own languages, and certainly uses unique vocabulary and story telling.

Stick with it! The first part of the Way of Kings was hard for me to get into. The start fakes you out about 3 times
