He made me care about the world itself, not just the main characters. That created a depth that is missing in most stories.

Sanderson does the same thing, but in a different way. He's telling multiple independent but still interwoven stories, kind of like how the MCU works. He also creates interesting magic systems that I want to understand better, which is a compelling reason to keep reading.
