Nothing surprising about the experience other than the bill.
I had a kidney stone when I still lived in New England, and his experience was very similar, except that I went in almost certain it was a kidney stone, whereas we went in thinking it was probably his appendix. That was ruled out quickly, and a scan showed a stone.

That's crazy. I took my son to the ER a couple weeks ago because I was worried about appendicitis and our overall charge
