I like Gabb for kids up until they start driving

Open communication and clear expectations and boundaries is always the way to go. I feel like 15-16 is a good time for a smartphone with proper precautions. Good on you for protecting your young kids from the world. There's a lot that can be seen with a smartphone even with proper precautions.
