The issue is that teens can do stupid things that will haunt them forever, like sext, post nudes online, make dumb jokes

the list goes on. This approach sounds nice, until you have to start dealing with this issues. Brains are fundamentally different at 13 then at 18 or 19. I don't think this notion that a kid who goes without will go crazy later on is accurate.
