I had a good laugh at one once and it went over very well
One of the bigger kids in class picked a fight with me on the bus before the return trip from ice skating lessons at Murray Park. He wanted the seat I had and tried to pull me out of it. As soon as he yanked on my arm to get me out of my seat, I gave him an uppercut with every bit of power my little body had.
He started bawling like a little baby in front of everyone on the bus and the bus driver kicked me off until our teacher arrived to sort it out.

The next year in 6th grade, the same kid had a run at me again on the playground during lunch break. I don't remember if he shoved me or hit me or just threatened me, but I punched him in the nose as hard as I could and it exploded with blood. He grabbed his face and ran back to the school on tears.
As loudly as I could, I yelled, "Jeremy, when are you going to learn to pick on someone your own size."

It got lots of laughs.

And no, I didn't get in any trouble at all. Things were different back then. A teacher was out there with us but I don't remember him saying a word to me about it.
