To those of you that were trolling, get a life. Like seriously a few of you need help. To those of you who thought I was looking for a detailed analysis of my failure as a parent, I wasn't looking for that either. I fully realize that we need to work with my daughter on developing better strategies and coping to being treated poorly by others. That wasn't the topic of my post. I wanted advise on how to deal with the here and now. I was quite heated up the other night, understandably so, I had reached an end to watching my daughter sob about this girl, and I had just got off a very long day of doing anesthesia-I was exhausted and had little patience left in me.
Some of you may have missed the part of my original comment where I stated this particular bully has been picking on my daughter for a couple months now. It's not just being rude and trying to control who her friends are, its progressed to physical pushing. If this was 1 or 2 instances, no biggie, carry on, but for the last 6-8 weeks this kid has been targeting my daughter, and has been making her life quite miserable at school. So i'm DONE listening to her sob about what the latest harassment was from this girl in her class.
I got several direct messages from some great people on CB letting me know in detail about their experience with bullies growing up, and all of them told me that not much will get done unless I go directly to the principal. So I spent a good amount of time on the phone with the principal and asked her to make sure that the child's parents are aware of what their daughter has been doing to my daughter for the last couple months. She said she would talk to them, but I really had to push her to do that. This will likely continue unless the parents know what's going on. If my child was doing this to someone, I would want to know about it!
I hope this is the end of this particular issue, in the mean time we will def be working with our daughter for future instances. Thanks again ya'll, some good dialogue and experiences shared and I got some of the tools in this group blocked. Hopefully it wasn't just me that got some helpful advise.
