That game you mentioned may have quite literally been the worst reffed game I
have ever seen in college basketball. It was bad every which way. 46 fouls called, including four guys on St. Mary’s with 4 fouls apiece, followed by the refs losing control of the game.
The officiating in the WCC was frankly the worst part of the league, too many games with no flow and no consistent whistle. The Gaels play a style of slow pace ball which doesn’t require any sort of flow, and good on them for adjusting, but I’m not sure how you can defend the officiating in this conference. It is objectively really bad.
