And yes, the calculations are imperfect. Or else they would accurately predict every game and winner.
Last year TCU obviously showed that both the human and computer polls to be wrong multiple weeks. There are way too many factors to put too much weight into college football rankings. They are often times very accurate. But its obvious to see that Utah is an outlier in the top 10 last year. Wonder why that is?

I am sure Utah will win an OOC P5 game sometime soon. After all, its a top 10 team right? Its due for one based on historical averages, and a horrible Florida team at home should be a great opportunity. But then again Florida was picked to lose to Utah last year... We all saw what happened at that game and how the computers got that wrong too.
