And how does the computer know how to analyze? It doesn't do that on its own.
The underlying software programming itself could have programmed biases into it. The computer doesn't just decide how to manage the data. Software, programmed by people tells the computer what to go do with itself and the data. It's not hard to imagine that software engineers have programmed the analytic software to weigh datapoints for certain schools or certain conferences differently than others.
