The computer isn't doing anything a software engineer didn't tell it how to do. The computer isn't thinking for itself or doing anything that it hasn't been told to do by human coders. It would be really simple for developers to program biases into the software to favor teams from specific conferences. I'm sure that you already know this, but are so disingenuous with this whole conversation that you're just being pedantic at this point. The fact is, you have no idea how the software running these computer calculations has been programmed. The simplicity in which you describe the process lends credibility to the idea that you have no clue how computers work or what goes into software development. That Utah education is really paying off for you.
