Not how it works. SEC teams are, on average, rated higher because they have
better records, on average, than teams from other conferences. And their average opponents have better records, on average, than teams from other conferences, and so on. That’s how they set up a graph that incorporates everything. Beating Alabama gets you more credit because of Alabama’s results, not some bonus points programmed in.
