50 most recent Utezone posts don't mention BYU
I don't go there ever (since you have to pay to even participate, which is one of many reasons why most BYU fans and many if not most Ute fans don't frequent that site), but since you mentioned it, I checked. None of the 50 most recent posts (going all the way back to June 1) have anything to do with BYU or the Big12. There is no top 10 threads functionality as far as I can tell, so it's not exactly an apples to apples comparison.
Cougarboard is a very user friendly site that talks about Ute related topics frequently. It is free to use (unlike Utezone), and is far more active than any Ute fan site. If Cougarboard was behind a paywall like much of Utezone is, I would likely be inclined to not participate.
There are lots of reasons for Ute fans to hang out on Cougarboard. I came for the Utah County food takes, and stayed for the Ute football discussions.
