I think this stat is being misunderstood
Again, this isn't meant to be "good" or "bad". It's an efficiency metric.

It's purely. When player X attempts to score, how good is he at doing so. Offensive rebounding or assisting is not attempting to score.

My point with this metric is that some players are very very good at utilizing possessions to score. Others should create those possessions or enable the scorers because that's what they are good at.

KC was excellent at creating possessions. (Rebounds, Offensive Rebounds, Steals)
He was above average at enabling other scorers (Assists)
He was way below average at converting possessions to points himself, yet he consistently was number one on the team at attempting to do so in spite of the fact he did it at a 20% lower rate than any of the other starters. As I stated in another post, BYU has had a player in the low 0.8's on converting possessions into points as a top 3 possession consumer since Fredette left (First Carlino then Collinsworth). None of BYU's major rivals have had someone in a similar position. All of their top 3 consumers of possessions are over 0.95 conversion rate. I don't think there's a coincidence there.

There is a place for KC on this team and he made it better, but numbers show that it wasn't as a converter of possessions to points.

I will shortly post another stat showing who is great at creating new possessions. KC will shine in that one.
