Drug usage is not a "lesser" violation of the honor code. They aren't getting
punished for curfew.
The honor code protects both men and women from committing and being victims of sexual assault. And there is much less sexual assault/rape on BYU campus then other similar-sized universities. It is not important that people pay for HC violations. It is important that people do not continue destructive behavior that can ruin their lives. Sometimes consequences are an important part of making significant changes in people's lives.
