The point is that this crime is so under reported because of the way women tend to respond to it. Some guys here act like it is just a given that other misconduct should be overlooked. Overlooking such conduct is extraordinary. We don't generally do it. But the argument is that the greater good is served by doing everything we can to get these cases reported.
