I was at the '04 BYU v Utah game. I was taken on a date with a girl. I didn't really care for her but I was going to the game so I decided to give it one more shot even though she was a Utah fan and I knew I wouldn't be able to get over that. I was fully aware we were going to sit in the Utah Student section. I know my place. I didn't wear blue and I didn't wear red. It was way too cold out and I didn't have a coat of either color. I cheered for a few good plays from Utah but nothing over the top. My date was really loud for Utah. The two guys in front of us each had several glass bottles of beer throughout the game. Near the end when it got really out of hand they started to trash talk me and it was extremely vulgar towards me and the other girl. They spilt at least half a beer each onto me, my date, and another guy. Not sure if it was on purpose or not or if it was because they were so tipsy. Several other Utah fans started heckling the two guys and shut them up.

This last season, I was incharge of the David Eccles School of Business tailgate parties. (yes, I was a u of u student. That is a story for another time.) I can give you the names of 10 students that were drunk off their rockers before the games even started. Two of them had to be helped from the tailgate area to the staduim. All ten of them had their methods of smuggling beers in. They were successful in smuggling quite a bit of beer too because they would always brag about it in class.

I am not saying you can't be a good active memeber of the church and a Utah fan. You are blind and ignorant if you say that there aren't Utah fans drunk and smuggling beer into the stands.
