why haven't you fixed them yet? My future brother in law and father in law (in Utah apparel - my BIL is a grad student at UU and FIL supports his son in whatever he does) were at the Utah BYU 2010 game in SLC.

When the BYU band took the field, a bunch of Utah fans began throwing snow and ice balls at the band. 2 or 3 ice balls hit a band girl right on the head and she was bleeding. She fell over dazed and had to be CARTED off the field. Later that day, Bronco had snow and ice thrown at him and at the press interviewing him after the game. You say you see bad things going on, and you say you fix problems when you see them - so why are things so bad?

I was also a Utah graduate student at that time, in the BYU visitors section. I didn't see that happen, but I saw the girl get carted off. I also heard and saw things that were incredibly offensive to any LDS member with a conscience. And yes, I did see both beer and other alcohol in the stadium. I also went to the Pitt game that year and had my empty water bottle confiscated while the person behind me in line snuck in at least 3 beers.

Yes - rivalries bring out hatred and swearing and mean-spirited remarks - but what happens at RES is much worse than most places. I have been to other rivalries in the Big 10 and Pac 12 and there is jawing, there is alcohol (beer and otherwise - I don't know how you can say there is no beer in RES with a straight face), and there is hatred. It was never as bad as Ute fans are to BYU fans - the lack of class by Utah fans is ridiculous.
