Some advice on camps
First off, I have spent a lot of time looking pretty closely at the football camps in the Southwest US, SoCal to NM, up to CO and over to UT, I have had kids from my teams go to camps in most of the states in that box, I will add the caveat that I didn't spend time looking at camps in Texas, but from my experience, you will be hard pressed to find a better padded camp at a University, and you will also be hard pressed to find a padded skills camp anywhere near as affordable as the BYU camp. If you are prepared and sign up for the the All Poly- Nike Sparq - BYU camp circuit all in one straight go, that is probably the best 2 weeks of summer football camps that also get you in the Sparq system that you can probably find in the U.S. and they are WAY less expensive than what you will probably be able to find anywhere. Any serious HS football player with any aspirations of playing D1 should be on that camp schedule for their Jr year.

Also, BYU does a much better job of teaching skills than most of the university camps, most universities offer much shorter camps, and they are basically pay to participate JR day camps. Those are much closer to showcases than what you are experiencing at BYU. There are some good padded technique camps, but they are typically not associated with universities, they tend to have NFL guests, and cost about 3X+ what the BYU camp costs. The only exception to that is the All Poly camp, and no, you don't have to be poly to go, and it has been a really well done camp with a focus on development, and putting school in perspective and getting ready for the clearinghouse, can't say enough good things about what they do at All Poly.

Another suggestion for you is the Skys the limit camps in Texas for receivers, Margin Hooks runs it and I have heard really good things about it, if you are close enough to do training with him, he is highly recommended by people that I know.
