I wish he was top 10 national....nope, just here in Utah....
I realize that top ten Utah has little meaning on a national or even sectional level but his progress has been great, especially since we switched him to Wasatch Fish Market. He currently is working out with the National Development Group and this fall he will be practicing with the National Training Group (NTG). NTG is designed specifically for preparation for the collegiate and national competitive levels and is usually reserved for 14 and up. He is 12. His best swims are the sprints. He currently is 2nd in the state in long course in his age group in the 50 free. His other best strokes are: 50 Fly, 50 Back, 100 Free, 100 Fly, 100 IM (although his breast stroke needs some major help--if he could get that stroke under control he would be unbeatable in the IMs). He currently has qualified for 9 events in LC state next month. I'm guess they will have him on a few relay teams too. On the short course side the best he has done was 3rd in state in the 50 free. He doesn't turn 13 until late March. So, we hope he excels at SC state in March.

The hardest part about this whole athlete thing is that this kid LOVES all sports and wants to do it all. I've had him at a local football camp and basketball camp. I wish there was more time in the day. As you know, swimming is a year round sport with LC an SC going on all year.
