Football Camp Experience - Won't likely come back
I'm just curious how many have had similar experiences. My son is 15 years old and 6'5" and 180. He is transitioning from O Line to tight end on high school next year. He is working out with a former tight end with connections to the program, who feels that he is D1 material. So we flew out from Texas to attend camp and have him working out with the receivers. He has a lot of work to do - no question about it. But that is WHY we are here. The problem is that we're now 4 hours into 7 on 7 at camp, and he has been in for exactly 5 plays. That's maybe 5 mins. The rest of the 3:55 he has been sitting on the sideline with about 15 other kids who aren't getting in. He coach is playing the same 7 almost every rep.

I get that kids (and coaches/byu players) are competitive and want to win every down, but am I off base in feeling that this defeats the purpose of a camp? Anyone else seeing the same thing, or is it just our team?
