That's all I needed to know from you. Again, you need to listen to former alumni, including those that have been playing for BYU as an independent. Most wish they had the chance to play for a conference championship, and those that did play in the MWC and won the conference championship never felt it was meaningless.
Let's look at what a MWC championship gets BYU today - A chance to play in a New Years Day bowl game, which would give BYU more exposure in 1 game then they typically would get the whole season? Why... cause that bowl is talked about weeks prior to the game.
An undefeated season as an Independent guarantees BYU nothing more than the bowl game they are contracted with. If BYU is contracted with the Frisco bowl... and undefeated season gets them that. So you are giving lip service to a conference championship in a G5 program that gives them a heck of a lot more than an undefeated season as an Independent. We are meaningless now... our seasons have never been more meaningless than they are now. Our game results are meaningless. When the difference between 6 wins and 12 is no different in what bowl you get... there is nothing more meaningless than that.
