But outside of about 8 teams... nobody else is getting a playoff birth. Here is what I honestly do believe, I believe the polls prior to this new playoff system where obviously biased to BCS teams, but not so over the top where you didn't see a non-BCS enter the top 10... UCF last year absolutely deserved to be in the top 10 prior to their regular season end, and yet they got to 11th I believe... I could be wrong.

I think the polls today are geared to keep the G5's and BYU out of the playoff discussion. You'll never see a G5 program, or BYU, ever have a legit shot at the playoffs. While that is the wannabe goal of every team... it's only realistic for 8 teams maybe... that number seems to be shrinking.

So legitimately... a more realistic goal, even for a G5, is to get to the New Years Day bowl game... sure they aren't the playoff bowl games, but they are still significant bowl games with tradition and prestige. BYU literally has no shot at even those, cause BYU has absolutely no contract with them. The G5 conference have a contract... BYU doesn't.

The exposure that Houston got playing in the Peach bowl, and UCF got playing in the Peach Bowl is unmatched to whatever BYU gets as an independent in the regular season. If you added up all of BYU total ratings as an Independent... that 1 game still beats BYU's season total TV ratings.
