Or jump out of a moving car, pr out a 3 story window, or pop pills or...than it dows to get a gun that may beed loading and use without any prior knowledge of forearms. Even with prior knowledge of firearms, a plan to get,load,(if unloaded) has to bee in place. You are stealing somethng from parents. That takes planning. Drinking bleach takes none.
And the data is a bit convoluted when talking generalities. Gender has to be separated out for starters.

You dont need to know about pills. Google takes about 2 minutes. People also have to research where to shoot themselves for maximim quick effectiveness.

Sure guns are dangerous...yet more children are killed by household cosmetics each year.
