Guns are intended to stop or to kill; medicines have other designs.
If your argument is that other tools are also used to kill, I agree.
Unlike most of these tools, they also serve other purposes. Cars are for transport, medicines are for curing disease, and so forth.
Guns are valuable tools. If gun owners refuse to self-regulate, such as placing loaded guns in gun safes and keeping them away from children, society will do it for us.
I don't care about rights or anything as far as my children or grandchildren. Nobody needs to tell me to my loaded guns away from anybody but another adult, whom I trust.
Gun owners must encourage responsible ownership. Yes suicide will happen but we should employ means to reduce its happening with guns. Or society will take them away from us. I choose self-regulation.
