I think U R. I'll xplain. Like I said children Die more from cosmetics in homes
Than guns.
Think about it honestly. What is the potential for death of my gun?

If there are no bullets in 5ge house?

If there is 1 bullet?

If there are 2?
If there are 1000 rds?
Do you see where i am going with that line of reasoning?
Drownings in pools are also a bigger risk of death.

Now suicide..about half of all gun deaths are suicide..aprox 15k.
That is tragic.
We don't have any evidence to support that those numbers wouldn't be approximately the same if there weren't 350 millions guns and BILLIONS of rds of ammo in this country.

There are ~45 to 50k suicides a year. Remember there are only ~15k by gun..that leaves 30 to 35 by other means
The DOJ admits the numbers may be higher because some deaths might be suicide, but cant be proven as such.

Lots of examples of those like a person suddenly swerving into oncoming traffic. We do know of such events like that of attempted suicides that aren't successful that if they had been would never have been classified as a suicide.
Some many, kill another person in the process..

Should we try to be safe to save lives? Absolutely. Where should we start for maximum impact?
Should we try to solve all at once?
I just think guns need to be properly discussed and not have ststs manipulated to be scarier than they need to be.

Utah is an interesting case. We have a high suicide rate. Over a period 2006-2015 studied. 85% of gun deaths in Utah were suicides.

50%of Utah suicides were from guns.
The gun death rate is 12.6 in utah per 100k.
The opiod death rate in Utah is
16.4. Per 100k.
We need medication safes?
