well how about minors having guns? Its a constitution right to bear arms. Why
cant they purchase fire arms? Well its probably because people got together and decided they are not mentally fit enough to operate them. That is one type of limitation placed on a constitutional right that could be considered a mental fitness test. Now its obvious to me that there are those out there with the mental fitness of a minor that should also be barred from having guns and that using age alone is not adequate. It wouldn't be hard to come up with common sense criteria. But people are so afraid of implications that they become callous to the amount of death happening that they don't want to do anything.

I feel people should have to demonstrate a certain degree of mental fitness to have a license to have a gun. Its just the way I feel. I want a gun license to be like a drivers license. People should demonstrate ability to pass certain tests to qualify for it. Would that fix all the problems? No. Might it halt a few deaths...probably. Would that have lots of implications in terms of freedom? Yes. Do we often submit to changes that limit our freedom for the health and safety of others? Yes all the time. Have there been enough gun related deaths in the country to look into doing something like that? Yes.
