I bag on teacher's publicly - their industry doesn't do a good job of firing underperforming people. Underperforming
teachers make life harder for good teachers.... so it's so strange that the issue persists. If I were a teacher, I'd be demanding that the bad teachers in my school be fired and replaced with competent new co-workers.
PS - I also think that in an effort to get good teachers to enter/remain in the profession, we should pay teachers more.
